Type B plug, named as American standard NEMA5-15, has 2 flat thick blades and 1 round or U-shaped earth prong, which is longer than the two flat blades. Therefore, the device is grounded before connecting the power.
Type B electrical plug is mostly used in Central and North America, Japan (see all countries or regions on below list), Type B plug is suit for type B socket. However, in some places of South and Central Amercia, grounded type B outlets are still uncommon to see.
